More than $20,000 was raised by organizers of the YXE First Responders Fitness Festival, which took place Saturday and Sunday at Gordie Howe Sports Complex in Saskatoon.
The two-day event featured around 60 athletes from fire, police and EMS competing in a 10-part obstacle course, an eight-kilometre trail run, tug of war, sand bag circuits, decathlon of functional fitness, fridge flips and each service pulling a vehicle.
First responders also offered vehicle tours and interactive stations for children.
Money was raised for OSI-CAN (Operational Stress Injury/Post Traumatic Stress Support Initiative), a national first responders charity. StarPhoenix photojournalist Matt Smith was there.
